NORMAL, Ill. – The Lady Chiefs of Deer Creek-Mackinaw are one game away from a state championship.
The girls’ basketball team defeated Rockford Christian in the IHSA Class 1A state semifinals, 48-35, at CEFCU Arena in Normal on Thursday.
Dee-Mack is looking for its first state title in its first appearance at state.
The Lady Chiefs were led by senior forward Dalia Dejesus’ 31 points. Dejesus also earned a double-double with 10 rebounds. Junior forward Kate Schmidgall followed with 6 points and 5 rebounds.
Dee-Mack will take on Mount Pulaski for the state championship Saturday at 10:00 A.M.
