NORMAL, Ill. (25 News) – A man is dead after he was pinned between a semi-truck trailer and a loading dock at the Rivian Automotive warehouse Thursday afternoon, authorities confirmed.
According to 25 News, the incident happened at 1:40 p.m. Thursday when emergency crews were called to the warehouse at 301 W. Kerrick Road. When firefighters found the man, he had been trapped for at least 20 minutes with critical injuries.
Crews freed the man and immediately took him to Carle Bromenn Medical Center with those injuries.
Despite the efforts, Normal Police Chief Steve Petrilli and the McLean County Coroner confirmed the man was pronounced dead at 2:33 p.m. More information is expected to be released after next of kin is notified about the death.
There are reports that the man was a contractor for Rivian.
Normal Police Department and the McLean County Coroner continue to investigate the fatality.
