PEORIA, Ill. – One person was injured after a car went into a ravine Thursday morning in Peoria.
Peoria Fire says crews responded to the T-intersection of Prospect and Montclair just before 11:30 A.M. finding a mid-sized sedan with heavy damage about 50 feet down the ravine.
Firefighters found the car upright and empty with the passenger door open, with the victim about 30 feet further down the ravine with multiple injuries.
Crews administered care and helped the victim up the ravine via a stokes basket to place them in an ambulance to go to a local hospital. Peoria Fire says the injuries were non-life-threatening.
It is unknown at this time how the accident occurred, but Peoria Fire believes it was the only vehicle involved.
