PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria-area candidates for State Representative and Senate Senate did not break a sweat on Tuesday’s elections.
No one running for central Illinois-area seats in the State House and Senate had a competitive race in the primaries, with some incumbents currently without an opponent for November. Write-in challengers could emerge from now until November.
Incumbent State Senators Sally Turner, Neil Anderson, and Chris Balkema were unopposed Tuesday, and currently unopposed in November.
Incumbent State Representatives Bill Hauter, Sharon Chung, Jehan Gordon-Booth were also unopposed on Tuesday, and have no current challengers in November.
Woodford County Coroner Tim Ruestman was unopposed as he seeks to replace Dennis Tipsword in the 105th State House District, and is currently unopposed in November.
Only one known State House race for November is set, with 73rd District Republican incumbent Ryan Spain facing a challenge from Democrat Nicole Dopler.
