PEORIA, Ill. – The lead grows for the current frontrunner for the District 3 seat on the Peoria Public Schools board.
The first post-Election Day ballots were counted on Thursday by the Peoria County Election Commission.
Sarah Howard’s 44-vote lead after Election Night nearly doubled, with a now 86 vote lead over Doug Shannon. Howard now has 3117 votes to Shannon’s 3031.
Howard vote-by-mail total increased by 100 after the Thursday update, while Shannon has 58 more added.
Ballots will continue to be counted for up to two weeks after Election Day, with vote-by-mail ballots that were postmarked by Election Day.
