TOULON, Ill. – Several goats were rescued from a barn fire Thursday afternoon in Toulon.
Toulon Fire says crews were called to the 900 block of Main just after 4:15 P.M., finding a two-story barn with heavy fire through the roof.
Strong winds with gusts as high as 50 MPH played a role in the spread of the fire. The winds led to several exposures damaged with several spot fires put out.
There were no injuries to humans or animals, but the barn was a total loss.
A separate nearby field fire had to be put out by the same fire crews.
Toulon was assisted by Stark County Ambulance and Sheriff, Toulon Police, Galva Fire, Bishop Hill, Wyoming, and Lafayette.
