PEORIA, Ill. – A 5th person has been arrested and charged for his alleged role in the armed robbery of a teenager last November in Peoria’s East Bluff.
The Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office says 18-year-old Kenmetris Cockfield was ordered held at a detention hearing on Tuesday.
Peoria Police says Cockfield was taken into custody on Monday in Hamilton County, Indiana on a different matter, then extradited to Peoria and arrested for Armed Robbery.
The incident occurred in the area of Peoria and Ravine on November 21st last year.
A victim told police that multiple males allegedly armed with handguns approached him and ordered him to remove his pants, shoes, and watch, with the robbery reportedly recorded on a cell phone and posted to Snapchat. Prosecutors say Cockfield was one of several identified through their social media accounts.
20-year-old Jorden Foster, 19-year-old Shamari Joiner, as well as a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old, have also been charged in connection to the case.
