PEORIA, Ill. – Two men have been indicted for their alleged roles in a South Peoria vehicular hijacking earlier this month.
Court documents indicate 34-year-old Christopher Coleman and 28-year-old Anthony Campbell were both indicted Tuesday for Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Felon.
The incident occurred in the early morning hours of March 21st near Warren and Ann Streets.
A victim told police the pair allegedly opened his vehicle, pointed a firearm at his head, and demanded personal belongings before ordering him out of the vehicle and stealing it.
Police attempted to stop the vehicle later in the morning, but it fled before crashing at Adams and Lorenz.
