PEORIA, Ill. – It’s been exactly 365 days since James Shadid announced he was taking over as president at Bradley University.
He tells WMBD’s “Greg and Dan” his first year on campus has gone really fast.
“If I would wish for anything to go faster, I would guess that would be to get back to our enrollment goals within a year, instead of three or four years,” Shadid says.
He says he’s been impressed with the willingness of the entire Bradley campus, the community and alumni to engage with him in a number of different ways in his first 365 days.
“The willingness, the sense of urgency to meet challenges, was really rewarding and refreshing to me to be part of it with people all across campus, our staff, our administration, our faculty and our students,” Shadid says.
Shadid’s outreach to the community has also been very visible, with a number of businesses responding by creating new internship opportunities for Bradley students.
Shadid says the overall vibe on Bradley’s campus has also been re-energized.
In his first year at Bradley, Shadid says he’s been focused on creating a “Premier Student Experience” to increase enrollment, recently announcing new club sports opportunities for women, as well as a number of improvements on campus.
