PEKIN, Ill. (25 News) – The individual accused in the death of a 13-year-old Pekin boy from nearly a decade ago made a first court appearance on Thursday.
48-year-old Keith Brackett was arrested on Wednesday, and is charged with First Degree Murder in the death of Robert Bee, as well as Concealment of Homicidal Death. Brackett was also assigned a public defender.
25 News reports lawyers for Brackett requested more time to review thousands of pages of documents that were presented.
An arraignment hearing for Brackett is now scheduled for April 23rd.
Brackett is accused of asphyxiating Bee and hiding his remains in a wooded area on Illinois Route 29.
Bee was reported missing in November of 2016 and his remains found in July of 2017.
