PEORIA, Ill. – A Eureka chiropractor is pleading not guilty of charges accusing her of bilking the federal Medicare system out of more than a million dollars over a number of years.
Federal court records indicate Carrie Musselman pleaded not guilty Thursday to ten counts of Wire Fraud, two counts of Obstruction of a Federal Audit, and one count of Health Care Fraud — all filed last month by a federal grand jury.
Musselman, as owner of Preferred Care Medical Center, allegedly schemed to defraud Medicare starting as early as 2016, and allegedly made false statements about collaborating physicians in late-2018.
The charges seek at least $1.7 million dollars in damage.
Musselman is out of custody on bond. She’ll be back in court next month, with a trial starting as soon as December.
