An associate professor for entrepreneurship at Bradley University is being recommended to fill a vacancy on the Peoria County Board.
Board members will vote Thursday on the board chairman’s recommendation that Eden Blair be appointed to the vacant District 6 seat. If approved, Blair would fill the vacancy created by the resignation of G. Allen Mayer May 15. Blair would serve the remainder of Mayer’s term which expires in December 2020.
Blair will serve on the County Board’s Health Committee and Ways and Means Committee.
Blair also currently serves as a board member for Grafelman Farms Rescue and on the advisory board for TerraCarbon LLC. Blair has also served as chair of the advisory council for the Peoria County GAP Loan Program.
“I look forward to working with Dr. Blair,” said Peoria County Board Chairman Andrew Rand in a news release. “Her extensive education in entrepreneurship and connections to the community will further enhance our collective board knowledge.”
District 6 covers central Peoria, bounded roughly by I-74 to the west and south, Lake Ave. to the north and Sheridan Road to the east.
