PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria fire officials say a home sustained $90,000 dollars in damage as the result of an electrical fire Wednesday afternoon.
It happened around noon at a two-story house at 6875 North Fox Point Dr. in a residential neighborhood off North Knoxville Ave. and Bethany Way.
Firefighters say, shortly after arriving at the scene, they spotted smoke inside the home, so they opened the wall and ceiling above kitchen counter to expose the fire.
A pair of hoselines were advanced inside and the fire was brought under control in a little over 15 minutes.
Crews say the home suffered interior and exterior damage.
One resident was at home at the time of the fire and was able to exit safely, but will be displaced as a result of the blaze.
A fire investigator determined the fire to be electrical.
No injuries were reported to firefighters or civilians.
