PEORIA, Ill. – Gas prices are still high, but they’re still not as high as they were even a few months ago.
Both AAA and GasBuddy.com report declines in the price of a gallon of unleaded in the Peoria area.
GasBuddy says their average based on surveys is at $3.95, down almost 13 cents from the week before.
And AAA has the Peoria-Pekin metro average at 3.87, down almost 12 cents. We’ve noticed some Peoria gas stations have declined even further since.
GasBuddy says some areas of the country are seeing prices decline to their lowest rates since Russia invaded Ukraine. The company says it’s entirely possible the national average gas price — which it says is at $3.52 — could fall to under three-dollars by Christmas.
The statewide average is at $3.78 according to GasBuddy, or $3.83 according to Triple A. Both are also down.
