PEORIA, Ill. — A dust storm that originated in the Saharan Desert has travelled over 5,000 miles and changed tropical blue skies to brown in the Caribbean.
Now, the storm is making a right turn into the southern U.S. where people could see accumulating dust on their vehicles.
“It won’t be that thick in central Illinois. We’ll see light amounts of dust high in the atmosphere resulting in hazy, milky skies and possible spectacular sunrises and sunsets over the weekend,” said news partner 25 News Chief Meteorologist Chuck Collins.
