The man accused of fatally shooting a Fulton County deputy appeared in court.
Nathan Woodring, 42, of Avon pleaded not guilty to charged of first-degree murder and first-degree murder of a police officer during his appearance in Fulton County Court Wednesday.
News partner 25 News reports Woodring requested a jury trial.
Chisum was shot June 25 as he responded to a battery and disturbance call at a residence in Avon. Woodring was arrested following a 17-hour standoff with police.
Circuit Court Judge Thomas Ewing ruled there was probable cause Woodring committed the crime, meaning the case can move forward.
