SAN DIEGO — Major League Baseball player Tommy Pham, formerly of the St. Louis Cardinals, was stabbed in the lower back Sunday night in San Diego.
The San Diego Padres, Pham’s current team, confirmed the stabbing to the San Diego Union-Tribune.
According to the Union-Tribune, Pham was leaving an establishment and saw people arguing by his vehicle.
When he asked the individuals to move away from his car, he was stabbed. No major organs were hit.
The Padres said Pham is in good condition and is expected to make a full recovery.
Pham was a member of the St. Louis Cardinals organization from 2014-2018 before he was traded to the Tampa Bay Rays in 2018.
