PEORIA, Ill. — The Peoria City/County Health Deparment Tuesday announced 293 new cases of COVID-19 throughout the tri-county area.
After reporting 12 deaths on Monday, no deaths were reported in the area on Tuesday.
Peoria County had the most new cases with 136, Tazewell County reported 114 and Woodford County reported 43.
On a good note, the number of people hospitalized in area hospitals did drop slightly.
On Monday, 166 people will in area hospital beds with cases of the virus or suspected cases of it. On Tuesday, that number is down to 160.
The recovered rate in the area, however, does continue to drop.
The health department reported Tuesday that the rate fell 3% within the last 24 hours and is now at 67.5%.
An increase in the home isolating rate was reported as well.
The rate at home isolating increased nearly 3% and is now at 30%.
