A demolition crew was dispatched to raze a West Bluff Peoria home destroyed by fire.
Peoria firefighters were dispatched to a report of smoke coming from a house in the 1200 block of University Street at 4:16 a.m. Sunday.
No fire was located, but then crews were notified that residents could see smoke coming from the house at 1206 W. Thrush.
Battalion Chief Rick Morgan says firefighters arrived to find the roof of the 1.5 story home engulfed in flames.
Multiple hoselines were deployed at the rear of the house to contain the blaze. A search of the house revealed no one was inside.
A ladder truck with a master steam device provided an aerial attack due to the amount of flames coming from the roof. The fire was under control in around 30 minutes.
There were no injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
