PEORIA, Ill. – A race that was pretty close when the polls closed on election night earlier this month has now been made official.
The Peoria County Board of Election Commissioners has certified the results of the April 4th election.
And, incumbent Martha Ross officially retains her seat on the Peoria Public School Board from District 1.
Ross — currently school board president — got 31 more votes then challenger Keisha Alexander, in a race where each side accused the other of having bad petition signatures.
Alexander’s campaign manager and daughter, Chama St. Louis, tells 25 News she doesn’t yet know if a recount will be requested.
