PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria firefighters were called just before 10 p.m. Wednesday to Lexington Hills Apartments on W. Oakcrest Drive.
Battalion Chief Scott Strum said crews found smoke and a small fire in an apartment’s dining area, putting the fire out with an extinguisher.
Fire was contained to the single unit, with minor smoke and water damage.
Two residents were temporarily displaced by the fire.
The fire was deemed unintentional by investigators.
Damage was estimated at $1,000.
No injuries were reported.
