The new school year is just days away.
Peoria Public Schools is offering a new app for parents to track their student’s bus.
PPS Transportation Director Josh Collins says parents will now be able to use the Verstrans My Stop app after downloading it to their smart device (Android and iPhone) to track their child’s bus route.
“It will show the path on the map that the bus is taking, essentially the route. It will show where the bus is along that route, and then it will constantly keep you updated as to when the estimated pick up time is,” Collins said.
Collins says Versatrans My Stop app uses GPS to track the school buses.
Parents can also access busing information with the E-Link web service, by logging in with the student’s ID number and birth date.
Collins says if you have more than one student in Peoria Public Schools, bus information will pop up for all of your students with just one student’s log in information.
“These options will both keep you up to date so that you know when you and your student need to go outside to the bus stop. You won’t have to stand around if a bus is late, and you’ll know to go out a few minutes sooner if a bus is running ahead of schedule.”
