PEORIA, Ill. – A body was found in the Illinois River on Monday afternoon.
Police and fire scanners were calling for a river rescue in the area of the Peoria River Station at around 2:45 P.M.
Fire Chief Shawn Sollberger says a group of children saw something bobbing up and down in the river.
He says there’s no identification on the body at this time, adding there is also no missing person reports linking to it.
An autopsy will be conducted later today.
