PEORIA, Ill. — A man was arrested Sunday night for an alleged carjacking in Peoria.
Police spokesperson Semone Roth says around 6:40 p.m., officers were called to W. Willow Wood, near N. Teakwood Court. A man told them he was approached by another man who implied he had a gun, and demanded his vehicle.
The victim was not injured. His vehicle was located around 6:55 p.m. wrecked and abandoned on Grandview Drive.
While searching the area, officers found the suspect, 23-year-old Michael Miller, at the pavilion at the base of Grandview Drive.
Miller was taken into custody and arrested for vehicular hijacking.
