UPDATED 5:38 P.M.
PEORIA, Ill. – Three people were arrested by Peoria Police as part of a drug trafficking investigation.
It happened Tuesday night on Woodview Avenue near Northwoods Mall, and started as one of a number of traffic stops police were doing on vehicles they think were used in drug trafficfking.
In this case, police say what they called “large quantities” of cannabis and money were found in the vehicle of Jacob Fuller, 21.
That led to a search of a home, and the alleged discovery of an AR-style pistol, a machine gun switch, and more drugs and cash.
Fuller, Branden Heid, 20, and Morgan Wiedeman, 21, all face charges of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession with Intent to Deliver, Delivery of Cannabis, and Possession of Cannabis. Held and Wiedeman also face counts of Possession of a Firearm (2 counts), and Possession of a Machine Gun. Heid also faces a charge of Armed Violence.
Fuller posted bond and was released from jail, while the other two remain held.
(This story was corrected to reflect a third arrest being made, which was omitted from the original story.)
