PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria firefighters were called to a garage fire at a business in the area of Lincoln Avenue and Warren Street early Saturday morning.
Fire Battalion Chief Ryan Calhoun said crews arrived around 4:15 a.m., finding heavy fire coming from the back and roof of the garage. A short time later, part of the roof collapsed.
Firefighters had the fire under control in about 20 minutes.
Peoria Code Enforcement determined part of the building damaged by the fire needed to be be demolished.
The blaze caused about $70,000 damage.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries were reported at the scene.
