PEORIA, Ill. — A man was arrested on weapons charges Tuesday morning in Peoria for allegedly possessing a loaded ghost gun.
Peoria Police responded around 7:50 a.m. Tuesday to W. Oakcrest Drive, in the area of Lexington Hills Apartments, for a man reportedly armed with a gun.
PPD Spokesperson Semone Roth says 20-year-old Jaylen Williams was arrested for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, having defaced firearm, unlawful possession of a handgun under 21, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm without a valid FOID card.
Roth says officers found a loaded ghost gun with an extended magazine on Williams.
He was arrested and taken to the Peoria County Jail.
