SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The rolling seven-day daily average of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered throughout Illinois on Tuesday remained in the six digits, but a number of people far below that average between Monday and Tuesday received a shot.
81,152 doses were given during the reporting period, significantly down from the 105,757 doses typically given.
2,556 people during the period found out they have the virus. 23 died from it.
A total of 2,180 Illinoisans as of Monday night were hospitalized because of COVID. 502 of those patients were in intensive care units, while 251 were on ventilators.
Testing labs throughout the state reported 62,724 specimens were collected to test for the virus.
