LEWISTOWN, Ill. (25 News) — A house in Lewistown is a total loss after a Sunday afternoon fire.
The Lewistown Fire Department says they got the call of a house fire around 12:45 p.m. When crews arrived on the scene, the house was fully engulfed in flames.
James Thrasher, the owner of the home, was in the garage at the time and was not hurt.
“I heard a big bang. I was in the garage and I went over to the window and the whole house was on fire,” he said.
Fire officials say the Fire Marshal will arrive on Monday to investigate the cause of the fire.
Damage is estimated between $65,000 and $70,000.
