PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police responded around 8:20 Tuesday night to a ShotSpotter alert in the 700 block of E. Frye that indicated multiple shots fired. A caller also said someone had been shot.
Police Sgt. Amy Dotson said officers found a juvenile male victim that had suffered at least one gunshot wound.
“First responding officers immediately began life-saving measures. Paramedics took over care of the victim,” Dotson said.
The victim was transported by ambulance to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
