PEORIA, Ill. – Two area residents are accused by Peoria Police of having a stolen car, with a stolen license plate, and stolen power tools.
Police say a license plate reader detected the stolen plate from Waukegan around 7:30 Thursday night, then officers figured out that the car it was on was also stolen.
Police didn’t say where specifically the car was found at, but do say that a search of it also turned up what they called “multiple stolen power tools.”
Officers arrested Joslyn Pitts, 36, and Kevin O’Keefe, 48 on charges of Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Possession of Stolen Property. O’Keefe also faces a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance.
Both are jailed.
