EDWARDS, Ill. – An Interstate 74 off-ramp in Peoria was closed for the better part of five hours due to an overturned tanker truck.
Not much is known about what happened to cause the tanker to overturn at I-74 westbound at Kickapoo-Edwards Road, but the Peoria County Sheriffs Department says the driver of the tanker was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
No word on if any tickets are being issued. The accident happened just before noon Tuesday.
A review of Illinois Department of Transportation traffic cameras showed the offramp open again around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
