PEORIA, Ill. – Peoria crews were called to a garage fire early Wednesday morning in the area of E. Corrington and N. Maryland Avenue.
Firefighters arrived just before 1:30 a.m., finding a detached garage on fire, with the home nearby at risk. The fire was put out quickly.
Residents of the home, three adults and five children, got out safely. The home was not damaged by the fire.
An investigator said the fire was unintentional. Damage to the garage and its contents was estimated at $35,000.
No firefighter injuries were reported.
