PEORIA, Ill. – Two Peoria residents are jailed on charges accusing them of breaking into vehicles early Wednesday morning.
Peoria Police say Rayland Drain, 19, faces charges of Resisting Arrest and Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, while Isiah Abner, 20, faces a count of Possession of Burglary Tools.
Police went to an area near Gift and Institute around 2:30 Wednesday morning – an area where other vehicle burglaries had occurred – after they saw three people wearing ski masks and acting suspiciously.
Drain allegedly fled the scene but later surrendered, and a ski mask, gloves, and a loaded gun were found in his path, while the other two stayed put. A backpack with alleged burglary tools and gloves was found on one of the three.
The third suspect was released and not charged, while Drain and Abner are in jail.
