PEORIA, Ill. – A Peoria house fire results in one person being transported to a hospital.
The fire was reported at 8:47 p.m. Friday at 610 East Corrington.
Firefighters found the back of the one-and-a-half story home fully involved with flames when they arrived.
Battalion Chief Michael Hughes said the homeowner was found sitting on the front porch of a neighbor’s house. The homeowner was treated by paramedics at the scene and later transported to a hospital with possible smoke inhalation.
No firefighters were injured.
One cat was found deceased inside the house.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
