PEORIA, Ill. – Juveniles are believed to have caused a fire Sunday morning in a Central Peoria home.
Peoria firefighters say they were called to a home on North Bevalon Place, not far from Glen, around 6:45 a.m., and could see smoke coming from the front door of the single story home.
The fire was put out quickly, and crews on scene say eleven residents and five dogs had to be evacuated.
Two adults and two children were treated on scene for smoke inhalation.
Officials say arson was the cause, and the fire was started by juveniles.
Only about $2,500 in damage was done, and those in the home were able to return.
