A grocery store chain with two locations in Peoria is investigating a data breach.
Hy-Vee is warning customers about a potential credit card data breach affecting its gas stations, coffee shops, and restaurants.
According to the grocery chain, some of its payment processing systems showed unauthorized activity taking place. They immediately began investigating, enlisting the assistance of a cyber-security firm. The investigation targets fuel pumps; drive-thru coffee shops; and restaurants, including Market Grilles, Market Grille Expresses, and the Wahlburgers it owns.
Hy-Vee says they believe the activity has been stopped.
No other information about the incident is available. Hy-Vee said they plan to notify customers as they get a better idea about which stores are affected.
