PCAPS is inviting Peoria County residents to come help ‘Clear the Shelter’ on Saturday.
Peoria County Animal Protection Services Director Becky Spencer says it will be the perfect time to pick out a new pet during the national ‘Clear The Shelters’ adoption drive.
“All adoption fees will be waived. We’ve had a generous donor that wrote us a nice check to cover all the adoption fees. Which has been wonderful,” Spencer said.
PCAPS will have about 40 kittens, cats and dogs up for same day adoption between noon-5 p.m.
“Plus Groom Service has generously offered to groom our adoptable animals on the morning of the event,” Spencer said.
‘Clear The Shelters’ is an annual, nationwide pet adoption campaign. Since 2015, it has inspired thousands of families all across the country to open their homes and hearts to shelter pets, resulting in more than a quarter million pets finding new homes.
