PEORIA, Ill. — We all know about Black Friday and Cyber Monday, but what about Giving Tuesday?
Rich Draeger, Development Manager with Peoria’s Southside Mission, says for non-profit organizations, Giving Tuesday (on Nov. 30) is a call to action.
“For us at South Side Mission, youth is really going to be a large focus of our 2022. We’re calling it “Vision Is Possible”, so, our Giving Tuesday efforts are to raise $25,000 to get that started,” Draeger said.
Donations given to South Side Mission on Giving Tuesday will help move the Mission’s youth ministry into their main campus building, and remake the chapel into a youth worship center.
“We have great support from the Peoria community. We think this certainty resonates well with what the City of Peoria as a whole is trying to do…we’re trying to combat these issues with violence,” Draeger says.
In the coming year, South Side Mission will be expanding their culinary arts program to include kids, giving them something creative and positive to do with their time.
