TAZEWELL COUNTY, Ill. – The severe weather system claiming lives in Kentucky, Arkansas, Tennessee, and in Edwardsville, Illinois didn’t cause issues that severe in this area, but they left their mark.
The National Weather Service says at the height of the storms Friday night, wind gusts of 72 and 85 miles per hour were clocked at the Tazewell County Emergency Operations Center.
The dome was reportedly blown off at the Tazewell County Highway Department’s salt storage building.
There were numerous reports of trees, branches, and power poles downed in that county. At least one home was reported damaged, and one farm implement was flipped into a ditch.
Power outages were reported in Woodford County.
No injuries have been reported.
