Peoria, Ill — We’ve confirmed there is one person wounded in the wake of a shooting in Peoria, although the investigation is just now getting underway.
Police say around 11:30 a.m. officers found a person shot in the back and leg, located in an alleyway near the 2300 block of Malone Street and Arago on Peoria’s south side.
Investigators say the victim was alert and conscious when paramedics loaded them into the ambulance.
That person’s current condition is unknown.
Earlier, we saw multiple reports about a K-9 unit on scene, perhaps hunting for a suspect.
However, there are no suspects currently in custody.
Peoria police are expected to release more details later today or this evening.
