PEORIA, Ill. – An extra police presence around Manual High School in the wake of two recent shootings paid off Thursday.
Peoria Police say they arrested George Lewis, 19, after he allegedly fled from officers while traversing the Manual property around dismissal time.
He allegedly tossed a gun reported stolen while running.
While Lewis was arrested on a host of weapons charges, the Peoria County State’s Attorney only filed a charge of Aggravated Unlawful Use of Weapons, and was released from jail.
Officers say they’re looking for a second person allegedly with Lewis.
