Apartment fire sends three to the hospital in Peoria

PEORIA, Ill. – Firefighters were called to a Peoria apartment building early Monday morning on reports of a dryer fire.

Fire and smoke could be seen coming from the back of the three-story building on W. Moss Avenue when crews arrived around 12:05 a.m.

Peoria Fire Battalion Chief Tom Stimeling said three people were taken to a hospital for evaluation. Their conditions were not believed to be serious.

An investigator on-scene said the fire was unintentional.
