Overturned corn stalk bales cause North Peoria traffic tie-up

PEORIA, Ill. – Here’s something you don’t see every day that caused a traffic obstruction in Peoria: bales of corn stalks.

Authorities say the area of University and Pioneer Parkway in North Peoria reopened after about an hour, after the bales fell off a vehicle.

City crews were called in to clean up the bales.

Peoria Police say there were no accidents as a result of the incident.
