Peoria Public Schools is set to fill the open District 2 seat on the Board of Education, which was vacated July 15 by Bob Davison Aviles.
Lynne Costic is expected to be voted into office at the Board of Education meeting. She was one of four applicants for the board seat. Her appointment will run through June 30, 2021.
Costic lives in District 2 and has actively worked for the past 25 years in educating and mentoring hundreds of children in the community through the Early Childhood and Pre-Kindergarten educational programs, and mentoring organizations.
Costic, having previously served as a board member for 6 and a half years, says she knows firsthand the importance of setting and implementing policies and programs that will aid students in their education.
