PEORIA, Ill. – Federal officials say a Peoria man whom they claim to be a former Death Row inmate has been found guilty of trying to have sexual contact with a minor.
The U.S. Attorney says Jeffrey Parmly, 60, will be sentenced March 14th on Attempted Enticement of a Minor, and could get anywhere from ten years to life in prison.
He was convicted two weeks ago in a Peoria courtroom.
Authorities say Parmly was convicted in 1984 of a murder in Marion County, his death sentence was reduced to 76 years, and was granted parole just two years ago.
In this case, Parmly had tried to set up a sexual meeting with a 11-year-old girl.
