PEORIA, Ill. – A house fire from early Saturday morning in Peoria was ruled to be accidental.
Peoria Fire crews responded to a home at 3:04 A.M. in the 800-block of West Maywood. The first crews on scene reported a fire with smoke seen in the front of the home.
Crews ventilated smoke and gases from the home after putting the fire out.
A fire investigator determined the fire was accidental, with damage estimated at $40,000.
No firefighters were injured, but the home’s only occupant had escaped before crews arrived, but was taken to a hospital for smoke inhalation and burns on an arm.
