PEORIA, Ill. – The state is moving to a centralized contact tracing system for COVID-19, due to a continued spike in cases here and throughout Illinois.
That will mean a change for both employers and employees when it comes to that letter you may need in order to return to work.
“If your employer is seeking a letter, and if you are an employer that has historically been asking for letters to return [to] work, just note that it is a very difficult process we are having as locals to get those out as a timely fashion,” said Monica Hendrickson, administrator, Peoria City/County Health Department.
Hendrickson says the centralized contract tracing system starts January 13th, and if you are COVID-positive, you’ll get a text message from the state, that you have to “opt-in” for in order to get your return-to-work letter.
