WASHINGTON, D.C. – Maryland Senator Ben Cardin is speaking out after a staffer was fired for posting an explicit video that was filmed in a Senate hearing room.
According to FOX News, the scandal erupted Friday when the Daily Caller published video with the blurred-out faces of two men engaging in sex in the Senate location where several high-profile hearings have taken place in recent years, including Supreme Court confirmation hearings.
Cardin’s office had announced the staffer in question had already been terminated, but an investigation into the matter is continuing through Capitol Police.
“I was angry. I was disappointed,” Cardin told FOX News Monday when speaking about the scandal. “It’s a breach of trust.”
FOX News reports while there are currently no pending charges in the case, a security source did not rule out the possibility.
