LUKEVILLE, Az. – The number of migrants surging across the United States’ southern border with Mexico shows no signs of slowing ahead of the holidays.
The record for daily migrant encounters has already been broken twice this month and December is on pace to be the busiest month at the border in history.
The union representing Border Patrol agents tells Fox News, “these will not be happy holidays for the hard working men and women of the Border Patrol.” Instead of spending the holiday with their families, “they will be processing the illegal border crossers for release into the US while large parts of the border will be left wide open to exploitation by organized crime.”
President Biden has repeatedly called on Congress to pass immigration reform, claiming that his administration can’t do much to secure the border alone.
Migrant encounters at the U.S. southern have already reached 200,000 in December, according to Customs and Border Protection sources.
